Drama Group

The Thompson United Methodist Church drama group is open to all ages and generally presents two plays a year, a summer play (Usually performing in August) and a winter play (Usually performing in December).  Auditions are announced in church and community wide.  The Drama group is open to the entire community, not just members of Thompson United Methodist Church.  We choose plays that showcase themes that can relate back to Biblical concepts and that will engage audiences who might not otherwise come to church.  Some of our past productions have been:  A Christmas Carol, It's a Wonderful Life, An Evening with Sherlock Holmes, The Ugly Duckling, Adventures in Odyssey:  Unto Us a Child is Born, G.K. Chesterton's, The Surprise and Magic, A Christmas Madrigal Dinner and The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe.  We also have occasionally performed skits in church based on Bible Stories.  If you are interested in connecting with our drama group, whether through acting, working behind the scenes or writing or directing, please E-mail Nadia Wheeler at  i_love_smike@hotmail.com  or call  (440) 417-8077.  Many of our past productions can be found on our Youtube channel, TUMCDrama   http://www.youtube.com/user/TUMCDrama

Hello drama group people! It seems like not that long ago we were all working on our Christmas plays, now it’s almost spring!

This year 2018 TUMC Drama would like to try something new and a little different. We’re still excited about our summer productions (Treasure Island is a go! Our other is still TBA!) and we would love to get everyone warmed up (Ha, ha) before then. Therefore we would like to offer classes in the month of March for anyone who is interested. A couple of details:

1.These will not be full fledged plays, just fun scenes, learning experiences and improv, but there will be small performance opportunities.

2.You will not have to memorize unless you want to.

3.The classes are free! And you are free to invite friends!

Interested? Great! Here are the prospective classes: (Times TBA)

Taking place March 10th and 17th

Improvisation and Comedy taught by Elizabeth (with some comedy sidekicks)

With an additional Stage Makeup Workshop by Lydia on the 17th

Taking place March 24th and 31st

Scene and Character Study taught by Nadia

With the possibility of a singing/dance workshop on one day if enough people express interest.
